Care experienced and care leaver's guide to apprenticeships
Resources
According to the Office for Students, "Those with care experience have significantly poorer educational and life outcomes than the general population on average, and are underrepresented in higher education".
Through our work, we are trying to help create more opportunities and close the educational / occupational gaps for care experienced young people and care leavers.
The network was set up to provide a space in York & North Yorkshire for those who are actively engaged in working with or for care experienced young people to share best practice and discuss challenges/possible resolutions. As a collective voice, the network works together to disseminate evidence of effective regional practice to influence future policy and funding.
Membership is open to anyone actively engaged in working with or for care experienced young people in York & North Yorkshire.
Meetings are convened by the Inspiring Choices programme, who are responsible for chairing the meetings and circulating informal meeting notes.
To join the network contact Inspiring Choices – inspiringchoices@yorksj.ac.uk and you will be added to the mailing list.
