Destinations Festival 2026

On Tuesday 3rd February 2026, we hosted our second annual Destinations Festival. We invited 2 schools (80 Yr 10 students) to York St John University for a day of fun and informative activities focused on higher education. The idea of the festival was to give the students the chance to see a university a lot sooner than they may have anticipated and because of this, they should feel more confident about what their future looks like when it comes to higher education and making that choice.

The activities we had on offer were a careers fair, student life workshop with student ambassadors, creative arts/media tasters, policing taster and tours of campus including the allied health department. The schools were split into 2 groups creating 4 groups in total. Each group had a timetable to follow and engaged in each activity in a carousel like format.

The student feedback we received suggested they gained so much from engaging in the activities,  particularly the knowledge they need to make an informed decision regarding their futures when the time arrives. Overall, it was a really fun day and couldn't have been achieved without the support of our partners and everyone involved in making Destinations Festival a real success.
